Otis is handsome – no getting around that! He has a beautiful physique with a strong topline and a curvaceous underline. This boy’s got guns! Not only is he physically beautiful to look at but he also has the sweetest temperament. Oh ya – and he’s smooth too!

When I was looking for a new male to add to our pack, I had many criteria that he had to meet, but in particular … I wanted a dog that was considered desert bred/descent, and I wanted a dog that could course. Rather than take my chances on a puppy, I was hoping to find something that already had some experience, or had parents/siblings who were proving their worth on the fields. Since we haven’t had much opportunity to open field course in Canada, I looked to the US and was very fortunate to stumble upon Otis and his family who have, without a doubt, proven their mettle on the coursing fields of the western US. We are thankful to Warren & Vicky Cook (Santana & Cook PhoDOGgraphy) for allowing Otis to grace our lives! We are very pleased with what he has produced for us so far!

Otis cannot compete in lure coursing or in the show ring in Canada as he is only a generation 2 desert bred. CKC requires 3 known generations before registration can be considered. His first litter, however, is generation 3 and eligible for AKC/CKC registration! Otis has undergone a critique by the SPDBS committee and has his Critique Registration Number and DNA profile. He is also available at stud to a few approved bitches.

His dam Hlynn’s Santana Boushra was the 2002/3 Top NOFCA Hound and has 500 NOFCA breed and mixed points. She was the winner of three ASA perpetual trophies for the 2001/2002 season: The Adana, The Shadrack and the Coursing Shield. Boushra is owned by Warren & Vicky Cook (Santana) who also operate Cook PhoDOGgraphy.
His brother Santana Hey Uziduzit Jude was the overall winner of the 2008 Grand Course and second place in the Saluki Breed hunt! Tied for 7th place overall were Otis’s brothers Santana Clark Uziduzit Kent and Santana Novastar at RFR! Four of the five Salukis in the top ten are sired by Otis’s daddy! Jude and Clark are both owned by Vicky Clarke (Uziduzit).
Otis’s sire Sky won the Saluki Breed Stake at the 2000 Grand Course. Run in very limited competitive coursing events (four or less hunts per season), Sky has earned over 450 NOFCA points and qualified for the Grand Course six times. Recently, he was the co-winner of the ASA Archives Hunt for veterans over seven years of age.
Sky won the 2007 ASA Cirrus Cup (and 2001) and Boushra won the 2007 ASA Shahin Trophy. Sky and Nova are owned by Karon Lonero (Moshire Salukis).
